What is Third Culture?

Third Culture Definition

The concept of "Third Culture" originated from the term "third culture kids," who are individuals raised in a culture different from their parents’ or the culture of the country named on their passport. This unique upbringing creates a blend of cultures that doesn't wholly belong to one or the other but instead forms a new, distinct "third" culture.

At the Third Culture Film Festival, we embrace this concept by celebrating films and filmmakers that embody this intersection of cultures. Our festival is dedicated to showcasing stories that explore themes of identity, belonging, and cultural confluence. By highlighting diverse voices and experiences, TCFF provides a platform for films that resonate with anyone who finds themselves between cultures, or simply wishes to understand the richness that such intersections can bring to storytelling.
